Do you have a thirst for knowledge and adventure? At Student Educational Adventures we specialise in offering you and your school group access to meaningful service–learning programs, within far-flung and remote communities across Asia and the world.
They are about giving you access to experiences, places and people that challenge perceptions, bring perspective and engage with more than just your mind. Our programs provide real and meaningful interactions with foreign governments, corporations, organisations, schools, remote communities and much, much more.
Led by our dedicated student tour leaders, Student Educational Adventure trips are carefully structured to deliver meaningful and vocational experiences. They are designed to give you an insight into the cultures of other countries that you couldn’t experience on a trip with your parents or in any other way.
For students interested in cultural or service engagement, Student Educational Adventures can readily assist with introductions and access to NGOs, communities, religious and non-religious based organisations, for which you may wish to volunteer or work with as a short or long term placement.
UNIQUE EXPERIENCES, CREATE UNIQUE PEOPLE
The three day project in Cambodia was definitely a highlight for me. Although the days were exhausting, I loved interacting and learning different skills from the locals. My favourite part of the day was filling up the watering cans by the pond with the help of the village kids.
They learned English at their school and liked to practice with us. Their smiles made us smile which made the work easier. It was a privilege to hand these kids a gift at the end of the third day. Their parents had tears in their eyes as did most of us, I’m sure.
I must mention how the experience has influenced me. Seeing the pictures and hearing the facts about poverty and war is one thing, but actually encountering these less admirable aspects of human nature was a far more powerful experience. Seeing the Vietnam War Museum, S-21, The Killing Fields, as well as the poverty that still persists in Vietnam and Cambodia was very confronting, but also compelling in the profoundest of ways. Now more than ever I feel motivated to pursue my environmental and humanitarian causes so that a better world can be created for these people.
Loreto Mandeville Hall has worked with Student Educational Adventures since 2005. Each year we take a group of year 11 students and staff to Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam on a ‘student educational adventure’. Our students spend time volunteering at an orphanage for disabled children and visiting a range of community projects for which funds have been raised by our school as well as a number of cultural visits and activities.
Student Educational Adventures are an excellent group to work with. In the lead up to the trip their administrative processes are clear, timely and accurate. Their organisation of our itinerary and flexibility to meet our own school requirements is invaluable. At the pre-departure information night their advice to parents and students re medical issues and other pre departure issues is expert and reassuring.
On the ground in HCMC the expertise of Student Educational Adventures is outstanding. To have the continual presence of an overall tour leader who is an expert in guiding groups of students is invaluable. Interaction with other local guides has also been an excellent way for our students to engage with local residents and gain other insights into Vietnamese culture and daily life.
I have no hesitation in recommending Student Educational Adventures for any school considering an educational/community service trip to Vietnam or South East Asia.
I find it difficult to suggest improvements for the trip. I had a fantastic time.
